Our base on Team Valley
Victus works from Park Court on Ninth Avenue, in the middle of Team Valley Trading Estate. The A1 Western Bypass runs along the edge of the estate, which puts most of Gateshead close by.
Being local cuts out a lot of waiting. Survey slots are easier to fit in, and if a charger needs a visit, we are not driving in from another region. Remote monitoring shows us straight away when a charger goes offline.

Workplaces and depots on the estate
Team Valley is packed with offices, warehouses, trade counters and vehicle depots. Staff cars sit in the same bay for a full shift, which is a long time to charge.
Staff care about this. In a Virta and Kantar survey, 60% of UK EV drivers called workplace charging a must-have or a key factor in choosing an employer (Virta).
Estate buildings use most of their power in the working day, when staff cars are plugged in. The charger's optional dynamic load balancing lowers the charging rate when the building needs the power, which can keep a Northern Powergrid application small.
For vans that come back to the yard each night, two sockets mean two vehicles charging at once. Parked overnight, most will be full by morning. See our pages on workplace charging and fleet depots.
Picking a package for an estate business
If the chargers are mainly for your own staff and vans, Owned & Managed often fits. You buy the kit and keep the full return, and we can still run it for a fee.
If you want the public to use them too, Shared Investment means you cover the installation and we supply and run the chargers, and the revenue is shared. The revenue split is agreed for your site at proposal stage. See both on our packages page.
Retail around the MetroCentre and Team Valley
The MetroCentre and the retail parks around it draw shoppers from across the region. Plenty stay for a film or a meal as well as the shops. Retail World on Team Valley pulls a steady trade too.
Shoppers who charge tend to look for somewhere to spend the time. A Deloitte UK survey found 21% of EV drivers look for retail or hospitality amenities when they charge (Deloitte).
A retail unit with a few customer bays can add one pedestal and charge the public in p/kWh. Our retail EV charging page covers the options.
Gateshead Quays and visitor sites
On the riverside, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and The Glasshouse International Centre for Music bring in gallery visitors and concert crowds. Hotels and car parks around the Quays serve people who park for a show and a meal.
Further out, the Angel of the North, Saltwell Park, Gateshead International Stadium and the National Trust's Gibside estate near Rowlands Gill all draw visitors by car. Cafés, hotels and venues near them are good candidates for charging.
Connecting to the grid
Northern Powergrid runs the network across Gateshead. Many commercial and industrial units on the estate already have a three-phase supply, which our dual 22kW charger needs.
Small jobs can sometimes go ahead under "connect and notify". That applies when a single device is added, the cut-out rating is known, the service is sound and the maximum demand stays within the limits. We then tell Northern Powergrid within 28 days of installing (ENA form).
If the job falls outside those rules, we apply before we connect. Either way, you don't deal with the paperwork.
Good to know: The old rule that kept charger upstands at least 2m from a highway was removed in May 2025 (legislation.gov.uk). That helps estate sites where the only parking runs along the road frontage.
From survey to a running charger
We survey the site, make any Northern Powergrid application, coordinate the groundworks and install the Victus 22kW dual pedestal. Each pedestal charges two cars at once.
Once it is live, we run it: payments, back office, remote monitoring, maintenance and driver support. Our how it works page sets out each step.
Across the river, our Newcastle page covers city-centre and airport sites.
